Testimonials

“About a year ago I approached Natalie about wanting to be healthy, and desired a side effect of weight loss.  Over the past five years, I had been gaining about 5-7 pounds a year. I finally decided “enough was enough” as my weight approached the heaviest that I have ever been. I had considered other weight loss programs and diets, but nothing seemed to fit what I wanted. I wanted a life-changing plan to once and for all change my eating habits and figure out how to deal with my food issues. After the first meeting with Natalie, I finally realized that she had the information that I needed to apply to my life to get healthy. She has been my biggest cheerleader and support while I have been getting healthy and losing weight. She designed a unique meal plan for me to support my dietary needs. The best part of Natalie’s plan for me is that it has worked and it’s easy to follow and sustain over a long period of time. I have truly changed my life and am getting healthier day-by-day thanks to working with Natalie.”

“I had been struggling with my weight for years.  No matter what I did (i.e.; exercise/diet), I still couldn’t drop the weight.  Even though I ate healthy and watched my intake, there was still a lot of information I was missing.  That’s where Natalie came in.  She helped me realize when to eat, how often to eat, and what the best options are for my lifestyle.  Even though we only met a couple of times, the time we spent together and the information she gave me helped me achieve my goals.  I have felt better than I have in years and am finally happy with my results!”

“Mrs. Meador came into my Kindergarten classroom to teach a lesson on “Eating the Rainbow!”.  The children were engaged, entertained and thoroughly enjoyed learning about healthy eating.  Mrs. Meador is not only an excellent facilitator, but she makes learning fun!”                                                                                                                                                                                                   —D. IMG_0149“I was always told to eat healthy, but I never really knew what healthy meant.  I figured it meant eating less food, eating more vegetables, and less bread (which I am a HUGE fan of). Before I left for college, my mom got me in touch with Natalie Meador, MPH, RDN, LDN.  I was a bit wary of seeing a nutritionist just because I knew I wasn’t eating as well as I could, but she was absolutely wonderful.  I felt at ease sharing what I knew or, as it turns out, didn’t know.  She helped me learn how to eat less while staying full longer, which I didn’t know was possible.  Let me tell you, it is really awesome not needing to go for those snack foods because I just don’t need them anymore.  In addition to staying full, I feel better and have more energy throughout the day instead of lapsing into periods of lethargy.  And the best part is that the food she recommended tastes amazing!  I had been expecting bland foods but instead she gave me suggestions for meals full of flavor.  She was willing to go out to the supermarket to show me examples of good foods to buy and how to choose between different packaged foods.  I cannot begin to say how happy I am that I met with Natalie and I thank her for all her advice which has made my life so much healthier and happier.

“My daughter was heading off to college and I wanted her to be equipped with tools to navigate the college food court.  I know that freshman typically come home from their first year away having gained weight from stress and eating too much of the wrong things.  Our family has a tendency toward high cholesterol and diabetes, so I was more than a little concerned as my daughter got ready to move away for the first time.  Natalie Meador, MPH, RDN, LDN came highly recommended from a neighbor who had used Natalie’s knowledge to create healthy eating plans for her own two children.  I decided to give Natalie a call and knew right away that I would be happy with the results from our first phone conversation.  Natalie came to our house and with a relaxed, informed, and enthusiastic approach, helped my daughter understand how she could control her food cravings by making healthy food choices.  I was encouraged to be an observer, but Natalie was great at making my daughter the focus of the plan.  Natalie created a notebook for my daughter to take to college filled with information and meal plans to help her feel satisfied.  She also spent time at a local grocery store carefully explaining the importance of food labels and how to make best choices within a selection of food groups.  My daughter feels much more knowledgeable and empowered as she heads off to college.  I feel more relaxed knowing that she is fully equipped to tackle the food court.  Natalie has a positive approach that gives confidence to even the most skeptical teenager.  I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to make food a friend.”

“We first asked Natalie to help our young daughter expand her food palate, she has a complicated food allergy. Natalie’s approach to our daughter and family has been professional with a huge dose of understanding and compassion. Natalie is well-informed, dedicated, thorough, inspiring and most of all patient. Natalie’s support throughout the process gave our daughter a new healthy perspective on food. Through various techniques and with information, Natalie empowered our daughter to develop a positive attitude toward mealtimes and enjoy the introduction of healthy new foods.  Natalie provided the guidance we required as a family to make necessary changes to reduce our daughter’s anxiety towards new foods.  Our family’s once stressful meal time has been replaced with a true sense of family enjoyment. Natalie’s influence has made such a positive impact on our family; we are truly grateful.”

IMG_1303As a former collegiate athlete it was always ingrained in me to strive for perfection and the ‘perfect weight’.  An ideal that I became obsessed with achieving for a good portion of my life.  After college, I soon realized what worked before had a reverse effect.  Our bodies are not meant to live in extremes, whether it be dieting, excessive supplement taking, or over exercising.  The product of my trying to maintain this extreme lifestyle was weight gain and an overall negative self-image.  It was at a very low point when I finally came to the realization I had no clue what I was doing, could not continue living this way, and made the decision to ask for help.  Working with Natalie has changed my life in so many ways.  I thought this would be a weight loss fix, a crunching the numbers and finding out how to drop the pounds.  Fortunately for me, it became so much more.  Natalie truly cares about the complete person, not just weight loss.  We worked through not only food selection and making good quality choices, but also the negative thoughts I associated with food.  As I focused on finding balance in food, exercise, and life, I started noticing changes.  Clothes fitting that I had been unable to wear, and positive remarks from coworkers and family members.  I found it thrilling to just be living life not stressing about it for once and ACHIEVING RESULTS!  I am so thankful for my time with Natalie, and would without hesitation, encourage anyone who is struggling to go outside of their comfort zone and ask for help from someone who cares!”
